Professional Therapy Services for Individuals, Couples, Families, and Young People
Kent Campbell brings over two decades of experience as a psychotherapist dedicated to helping clients create meaningful, sustainable change.
Since beginning his practice in 2003, Kent has developed an approach centered on warmth, insight, and genuine connection—creating a therapeutic space where clients can explore their past, ground themselves in the present, and make purposeful decisions about their future. Through honest, compassionate dialogue, clients discover new pathways toward living more authentically while building resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
Parenting Support & Family Guidance
Kent specializes in supporting parents as they navigate the complexities of raising children. Drawing on extensive knowledge of child development and family systems, he helps parents strengthen their relationships with their children and find greater satisfaction in family life. Through reflective work that examines current parenting choices alongside your own childhood experiences, Kent guides parents toward healthier patterns that benefit both today’s challenges and your children’s long-term wellbeing.
A Counselor for Children and Teens
Kent’s work with children and adolescents is characterized by energy, authenticity, and the ability to build trust quickly. By creating an environment where laughter coexists with serious conversation, he helps young people work through difficult emotions and break free from unhelpful patterns. His approach to child and teen therapy always includes parallel support for parents, recognizing that family context is essential to lasting progress.
Couples Counseling and Relationship Therapy
Healthy partnerships require both stability and growth—enough safety to build a shared life, and enough productive conflict to support individual development. Kent works with couples to deepen trust and vulnerability, helping partners communicate more openly and understand each other more fully. Clients who thrive in couples work with Kent appreciate learning to be genuinely seen and heard by their partner, discovering that honest connection is the foundation of relationship satisfaction.
Individual Therapy for Life Transitions and Personal Growth
Working with an empathetic therapist can be transformative. The therapeutic relationship creates conditions for healing that engage both mind and heart. Kent supports clients facing specific difficulties as well as those experiencing broader life dissatisfaction. He describes the therapy process as an opportunity to “spill all the pieces on the floor” and then thoughtfully reconstruct your life—keeping what serves you and leaving behind what doesn’t. His strength lies in navigating complex situations over time, guiding clients toward changes that truly last.
coursProfessional Background and Training
Kent earned his master’s degree in counseling psychology from Santa Clara University in 2003, receiving recognition for outstanding contributions to the program. He holds licenses as both a Marriage and Family Therapist (since 2006) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. His therapeutic approach has been shaped by personal therapy, ongoing consultation with senior clinicians, and advanced training through the Palo Alto Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program. Kent has completed extensive coursework in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), integrating meditation and mindfulness practices into his work. As a clinical supervisor at Family Matters Counseling Services, he trains emerging therapists while maintaining his own active practice. He serves as a speaker at schools and professional conferences and holds lifetime membership in the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. He teaches courses in ethical and legal issues of counseling at the Santa Clara University master’s program in counseling psychology. Kent is a member of the CAMFT Ethics Committee and a volunteer in the community.
