Welcome!

If you are looking for a therapist, you are probably dealing with a personal challenge that you would like to make better.  Maybe you feel anxious most of the time. Maybe there is a lot of conflict with a loved one. Maybe you want to feel genuinely comfortable in your own skin. Whatever the reason, counseling is a great resource when you want to feel better but you’re not sure how to do that on your own.

As a therapist, it is an honor and a privilege to support my clients in leading happier, more fulfilling lives.  I love helping people examine their lives, understand themselves better, and navigate their relationships more skillfully.

I integrate a variety of approaches to therapy.  My goal as a therapist is to be effective and I tailor the treatment to each client’s unique needs.  Ideally, we work together simultaneously on two levels: a practical, specific level to get relief from symptoms and a deeper level to address the root causes.

I am passionate about mindfulness and meditation and bring years of studying and practicing these two disciplines to my work with clients.

I see teens, adults, and families for a variety of issues.  People come to me for help with issues such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Family Conflict
  • Parenting
  • Relationship issues
  • Stress
  • Life transitions such as adolescence, marriage, becoming a parent, career change, divorce, and loss.

One area I specialize in is helping support parents to make families stronger, happier, and healthier.  I believe that the more parents understand themselves and learn different parenting tools, the better parents they become and the more connected they feel to their child.  Often, parents believe they need to change their child’s behavior.

Sometimes gaining new parenting skills improves the relationship with the child and the child’s behavior shifts as a result.  I enjoy being part of this process with parents and I am available for parent consultations, parent coaching, and in-depth work with parents.

About Me

I have been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 2008 and a Professional Clinical Counselor since 2014.  I completed my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University. Prior to starting a private practice, I worked in several schools as a school counselor.  I also worked as a therapist in residential treatment for adolescents and in an outpatient community clinic. I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists state and local chapters.

Contact me at (408) 601-8083 for a phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit.  I can answer any questions about what to expect in the therapy process.
